What Omisore Wanted To Hear From Jonathan and Co.

Omisore must have felt on top of the world seeing the arsenal containing the list of PDP top brass penciled down for Osun mega rally of the party.

The team list included Mr. President and his Vice, Goodluck Jonathan and Namadi Sambo. PDP BoT Chairman, Tony Anenih; Chief Bode George, PDP National Chairman, Adamu Muazu, Former Speaker Dimeji Bankole, Governor Godswill Akapbio and Governor-elect, Ayodele Fayose (or Oluwayoose), amongst others.
Omisore, being a charater that he portrays – crusader of chaos, apostle of violence – expected these men of power to shake Osun to its foundation with their threat of powershow.
But lo and behold!, people, who watched the rally, were left wondering what happened to the ‘power’ of the all-powerful PDP. Apart from the fact that the mega rally was empty and lacking in depth, Omisore was practically devastated on the stage because he did not hear what he wanted Big Bros Jonathan to say.
Omisore expected Ogbeni Aregbesola Rauf – the only insurmountable mountain in Osun currently and the immortal albatross around the neck of PDP corn-eater – to catch cold as Jonathan and his cohort flex muscle of federal might.
But the elephant refused to display its might; the lion refused to roar. And don’t ask ask me why because the answer is simple: ‘Rauf-phobia.’
Omisore probably wanted Jonathan to vibrate thus: “We are not only in government, but we are also in power!
“Ahead of the election, we are going to display all powers of federalism to win this election. As the Comamande-in-Chief of the Armed forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; Commander of the Nigeria Police, Department of State Security (DSS), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Immigration, Customs, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the Civil Defence Corps, all roll into one, I will make sure we deploy 30, 000 strong men of each of this arm of our security agency to man every town, every highway, every street and every compound in Osun so as to prevent the opposition from out-rigging us.
“In fact, we are going to lock down Osun temporarily during that election so as to make sure that man they call Ogbeni and his teeming supporters will have no choice but to remain out of circulation during voting.
“We have also compiled the list of top chieftain of the APC that we are going to arrest shortly before the election. We cannot begin to tell you the strategy we are going to use.
By the power conferred on me as the President and Commander-in-Chief, we shall make sure we do everything mortally possible to conquer Osun from the APC. We, I and my Vice President, have concluded plan that the best way to tame the people of Osun is to intimidate them with the barrel of gun.”
Disappointedly, however, Jonathan developed cold feet and cancerous mouth to say this. And Omisore was shell-shocked at the end of the day. So stunned was he that he could not muster the energy to speak when it was his turn to so do.
This reminds one of the immortal line of Shake spear ; “Cowards die many times before their death.” Omisore’s mien practically turned sour when he did not hear a single word of ‘force’ from Jonathan. Big Joe probably became wise in the Osun airstrip before coming to the campiagn that the people of the state are as meek as a sheep and are Omoluabi per excellence.
Thus, Jonathan decided to answer to is real name in Osun – PATIENCE! Or is that not his real name?
That is his true name in Otuoke; he merely answers jonathan in Abuja. Omisore must by now – though belatedly – learn his hardest political lesson: ‘That the use of or threat of the use of force does not always triumph over the will of the people. It can do so temporarily. Only the people’s will triumphs all the time. Aluta to the people of Osun.
To Omisore, we say that the fear of RAUF is the beginning of wisdom. Stubborn politicians like Omisore always meet their waterloo when they least expect.
