Orange Culture and Maki O Headed To LVMH Young Fashion Designers Competition Semi-Finals

Adebayo Oke-Lawal of Orange Culture and Amaka Osakwe of Maki Oh have been shortlisted amongst the semi-finalists for the Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy Young Fashion Designer Prize.
The Nigerian designers came in the top 30 from a cross selection of over 1,221 applications that were sent in for the new prestigious award (with an associated prize of a €300,000 grant!)
Designers from fashion capitals as London, New York, Italy and Paris formed the majority of the shortlisted brands while Orange Culture and Maki Oh represented Nigeria and others from Netherlands and Korea also made the cut.
The semi-finalists are headed to Paris from 26 February for the next stage in the elimination process where they will be showcasing 8 pieces from their latest collection to an exclusive and intimidating panel that includes: CEO and Founder; Net-a-porter Natalie Massenet, Olivier Rizzo; Vogue China Editor in Chief, Corine Roitfeld, Patrick Demarchelier amongst others where the top 10 are expected to be handpicked.
The top 10 contenders will finally go head-to-head by  a jury of established designers including Phoebe Philo, Nicolas Ghesquiere, Marc Jacobs, and Karl Lagerfeld who will determine
